TSR/Inside Sales III

Telephone calls on behalf of newspapers to upgrade from trial subscriptions or to renew existing subscriptions.


Description

Outbound calls to develop relationships with businesses-related advertisements. This could include suppliers of legal notices (attorneys, banks, agencies, etc.), direct B2B sales for small advertising (business/service directory, employment classified ads, etc.), national advertising and consumers placing classified advertisements.


Major Responsibilities


Classifieds

  1. Call classified advertisers found in competing media, including consumer ads (i.e., rentals, autos for sale, etc.)


Local Business/Service Directory

  1. Build advertising base on product (real-time online and weekly print, possibly annual book)
  2. Track and call all directory advertisers (yellow pages, daily and other competing publications)
  3. Work with designers on website updates
  4. Refer appropriate advertisers to local reps (when applicable)


Event/Special Advertisements

  1. Work with local advertisers on promotions, including events, Internet deals (including deals of the day), etc.
  2. Solicit advertisers for sponsorships, vendor booths, etc. for special events (parades, festivals, etc.)


National Advertisers (Future)

  1. Work with outside sales reps to identify advertisers that make decisions outside the area.
  2. Provide sales materials, support, billing, etc.

TSR/Inside Sales IV

Territories: EMEA, US-East Coast, US-Central & Mountain, US-West Coast, Asia/Pacific, Spanish/Latin America Outbound telephone calls to acquire and develop newspapers.

TSR/Inside Sales II

Business to business advertising and marketing account management and sales to local businesses. Products & services include display advertising. One day per week is allocated to distributing publication to retail locations.


Description

Outbound calls to for subscription sales and/or retention and business leads generation.



Job Requirements:

Ability to communicate in and write English, ability to work with business managers and close transactions.

Programmer II

This person develops and supports our core systems for processing e-commerce classifieds, newspaper email editions and smartphone apps (iPhone and Android). Included in this role is custom configuration for some of the more complex implementations. Strong understanding of Linux, Java, and relational databases

Programmer I

Description

This person develops and supports our core systems for e-commerce classifieds, newspaper email editions and smartphone apps (iPhone and Android). Included in this role is custom configuration for some of the more complex implementations.


Major Responsibility

  1. Provide Tier II support to our 100+ newspaper customers around the world.
  2. Implement and support our ecommerce/classifieds system, email editions, smartphone apps, etc.
  3. Provide Tier II technical support to our company-owned newspapers.
  4. Develop and support our video distribution system on Android operating system.


Journalist/Management Trainee

Part of our management training rotation program. The objective is to introduce to potential journalists/managers experience in all major areas of managing a newspaper including editorial, advertising sales, circulation sales, distribution, operations and finance. Following a 12-18-month training program, journalist should understand enough of the operations to be a managing editor or advertising manager/GM of a newspaper.

Financial Analyst II

Description

This person helps to organize HQ in its role as a service provider. Requires algebra and statistics, strong Excel, and ability to acquire and analyse data for multiple products, legal entities, currencies, etc. The role is a catchall from accounting, HR, general administration, etc. Comfortable with forecasting, budgeting, cost accounting, basic tax implications, cost management, etc.

Major Responsibilities

  1. Accounting: Ensure that the correct processes are in place and are being followed by US offices. Some GL/AP/AR. Bank deposit and account reconciliation… Collections letters and collections calls each week (approximately four hours of calls)
  2. Cost/management accounting: develop cost drivers and allocations to enable P&Ls for divisions and departments.
  3. Purchasing: Ability to negotiate with vendors (including subcontractors & employees). Understanding of pricing options, terms, etc.
  4. HR: Ensure that correct processes are in place to minimize employee disputes. Ensure that compensation plans are clearly defined and implemented.
  5. HR/Recruiting: Facilitate posting jobs, screening resumes & telephone screening, initial job interviews, etc.
  6. Operations: ensure that offices are generally operation in an optimal manner. Assist in the overall operation of the newspaper from circulation and sales management, facilities management, etc.
  7. Branch Operations: Facilitate with remote management of remote offices, possible internal audit.


Financial Analyst I

This person helps to organize HQ in its role as a service provider to newspapers. The role is a catchall from accounting, HR, general administration, etc. The goal is to remove distractions so the company president can focus on product development and acquisitions.

Design/Tech I

Description

Produce advertising, basic marketing materials, update websites, etc. utilizing the Adobe suite of technologies.


Major Responsibility

  1. Basic telephone support
  2. Use graphics design programs to create and update print and online advertisements for a US newspaper.
  3. Layout ads with editorial text and photos in the digital version of the newspaper
  4. Work with editorial team (including on-site associate publisher) on graphic design, coordination, etc.
  5. Ensure stories and videos are posted to the newspaper’s website.
  6. Green screen video capturing and production.
  7. Create and review daily email editions.
  8. Demonstrate 100% responsibility for technical aspects of daily video broadcast and weekly print publication.
  9. Answer after-hour calls for subscribers, advertisers, company employees and news hotline calls.
  10. Translate stories from English to Spanish.
  11. Help newspaper customers with updates to their website.
  12. Require minimal direct supervision, possibly supervise others.


Customer Service Representative

Process in-bound customer support inquiries (telephone calls, emails, and web chat) for our companies. Research and data entry for level III and IV sales.

Description

Process in-bound customer support inquiries (telephone calls, emails and web chat) for our companies and on behalf of our customers. Outbound calls to develop relationships with business and/or consumer (subscriber) customers. This could include suppliers of legal notices (attorneys, banks, agencies, etc.) and direct B2B sales for small advertising (business/service directory, employment classified ads, etc.). Recruit for US and TJ positions (post jobs, screen resumes, telephone interviews and on-site interviews). Script and provide video weather services.

Customer Service

  1. Inbound call processing for all companies
  2. HR/Recruiting: Facilitate posting jobs, screening resumes & telephone screening, initial job interviews, etc.
  3. Operations: ensure that offices are generally operation in an optimal manner. Assist in the overall operation of the newspaper from circulation and sales management, facilities management, etc.

Inside Sales

  1. 100 to 200 or more telephone conversations per day on campaigns offering free trials or business leads generation.
  2. Call people currently receiving the newspaper for a new subscription or to renew.

Sales Assistant

  1. Help TSR IV, senior salespeople who are calling GNS customers (newspaper owners and managers). Help with lead generation, data entry and customer contacts and support.
  2. Help project manage new customers from contract management, requirements gathering and work with on-site experts on implementing new products.

Public Notices

  1. Become an expert on public notices to ensure that suppliers contact us first.
  2. Ensure that our costs are competitive, and our service is superior. Track pricing of competition. Ensure that we are the first-place agencies and attorneys call for public notice filings.
  3. Work with back office on marketing plan (such as direct mail and email blasts, updating our website, etc.)
  4. Review all competing products (other newspapers) on a regular basis (no less than weekly)

Major Areas of Responsibilit

Dev Ops/Sys Admin

This person supports our core systems for processing e-commerce classifieds, newspaper email editions and smartphone apps (iPhone and Android). Included in this role is custom configuration for some of the more complex implementations. Proficient in Linux with moderate ability in programming (Python) and relational databases. Other responsibilities include: supporting multiple internal systems.


Major Responsibility

  1. Provide Tier II support to our 100+ newspaper customers around the world
  2. Implement and support our ecommerce/classifieds system, email editions, smartphone apps, etc.
  3. Provide Tier II technical support to our company-owed newspapers
  4. Develop and support our video distribution system on Android operating system

Senior System Integrator

Manage the development and support team for integrating all systems provided to our customers: ERP, CRM, HRMS, CMS, CDN, etc. Comfortable with database architecture, workflow, accounting, etc. Manages sys admin/dev ops, programmers, DBAs, etc. Can implement and manage project plans and budgets.

Production Supervisor

Supervise, mentor and coordinate activities of design/techs.

Digital Marketing/Tech II

All requirements of Digital Marketing/Tech II, Develop and manage digital marketing campaigns , video production define marketing packages, Manage organization’s website, Optimize content for the website and social networking channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google Plus, etc, Track the website traffic flow and provide reports regularly.

Design/Tech II

All requirements of Design/Tech III plus video production define marketing packages (websites & brochures, marketing identity/branding)
